Playing in Shorewood
The City of Shorewood is a small town community with a preserved natural beauty nestled in the west metro area. Trails, community gardens, tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds and a public beach are just some of the amenities that make life enjoyable in Shorewood.
Shorewood residents can enjoy not only the beauty of open space and wetlands, but also active recreation in our seven parks with over 101 acres of park land.
Bikers, hikers and walkers enjoy the LRT trail which runs through Shorewood and stretches from Hopkins to Victoria. Freeman park also has additional trails throughout it's preserved natural areas.
Throughout the year Shorewood residents come together for special events in the park. Summer Children's Programs offer fun and learning for our youngest residents, while our Music in the Park provides entertainment for all ages. Winter gets heated up with Arctic Fever, a community wide event offering non-stop activities to choose from.
With all Shorewood has to offer, residents have many recreational choices. Whether it’s an impromptu picnic or a planned event, Shorewood's facilities provide a welcoming environment.
