Park Features

The City of Shorewood has six parks totaling approximately 100 acres. Our parks offer picnic areas, playground equipment, tennis courts, ball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a skate park, walking trails and ice skating rinks.

Park Locations and Directions

Badger Park - 5745 Country Club Rd
From Highway 7 and County Road 19 - Go west on County Rd 19 to Smithtown Rd and Country Club Rd. Turn left on Country Club Rd. Badger Park will be on the left side.

Cathcart Park - 26655 W. 62nd Street
West on Highway 7 - Go to Church Road and take a right. Turn Left on W. 62nd St. The park will be on the left side.
East on Highway 7 - Go to Church Road and take a left. Turn left on W. 62nd Street.
The park will be on the left side.

Crescent Beach - Birch Bluff Rd
From County Road 19 - Turn West on Pleasant Avenue. Turn Right on Birch Bluff Road. The beach is located straight ahead about 1 block.

Freeman Park - 6000 Eureka Road
East on Highway 7 - Go to Eureka Road turn left. Go ½ mile to the park.
West on Highway 7 - Go to Eureka Road turn right. Go ½ mile to the park

Manor Park - 20630 Manor Road
East on Highway 7 - Go to Christmas Lake Road turn left. Turn right on Excelsior Blvd. Turn left on Manor Road and go.4 miles to park.
West on Highway 7 - Go to Christmas Lake Road turn right. Turn right on Excelsior Blvd. Turn left on Manor Road and go .4 miles to park.

Silverwood Park - 5755 Covington Road
East on Highway 7 - Go to Old Market Road turn right. Continue on Covington Road and go .1 mile.
West on Highway 7 - Go to Old Market Road turn left. Continue on Covington Road and go .1 mile.

South Shore Skate Park - 5355 St. Albans Bay Road
East on Highway 7 - Turn left on Christmas Lake Road. Turn right on Excelsior Blvd. to St. Albans Bay Road.
West of Highway 7 - Turn right on Christmas Lake Road. Turn right on Excelsior Blvd. to St. Albans Bay Road.

LRT Trail

The Southwest Regional LRT Trail follows an abandoned railroad bed throughout the southwestern metro area suburbs. The north corridor begins in Hopkins and extends west for 15.5 miles through Minnetonka, Deephaven, Greenwood, Excelsior and Shorewood, ending in downtown Victoria.

  • The trail is ideal for biking, hiking, walking, or running.
  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited.
  • Horses are permitted on the Shorewood portion of the trail during winter months only.
  • Dogs are allowed only if on a leash (6 feet or less). Owners must clean up and dispose of dog waste in a sanitary manner. Pets must not be allowed to disturb, harass, or interfere with other trail users or wildlife.
  • Maps of the LRT trail are available at City Hall.

Crescent Beach

Need to cool off on a hot summer day or just relax and nap in the sun? Crescent Beach offers a small, clean, sandy beach with lots of sun. The beach is staffed with life guards from approximately June to August.

Skating Rinks

When winter arrives, what better way to get some exercise than to go ice skating. Shorewood has two hockey rinks located at Badger and Cathcart Park. There are also four pleasure skating rinks at Badger, Cathcart, Manor and Silverwood Parks. Staffed warming houses are available at Badger, Cathcart and Manor Parks. Rinks are dependent upon weather conditions, but the typical season runs from December through February.

Picnic Shelter Reservations

Weather you are planning a picnic, reunion or just a neighborhood get together, Shorewood's picnic shelters offer an ideal location for these events. Shelters are available to reserve from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A Picnic Shelter Permit is required. For reservations contact City Hall at 952.960.7900.

Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., daily

Fee Schedule: Reservation Fees must be paid to City Hall prior to issuing the permit. No refunds are given due to weather conditions or cancellations

Park Shelter Rules

  • Glass Containers, alcohol and fireworks are prohibited in the parks.
  • No alterations to the shelter will be made.
  • Hot coals should be left in the grill.
  • No amplified music or P.A. system.
  • Pets are not allowed in picnic shelter areas.
  • Applicant is responsible for cleaning up the facilities, including depositing all trash in the appropriate containers.
  • Applicant is responsible for any damage to the facility.
  • Parking is allowed in designated areas only
