Plastic Bag Recycling

Plastic bag recycling is becoming more difficult. It can also be confusing--some plastic bags can be recycled, others can't. Most retail store bags can be recycled in store drop offs where available. Becuase of the limited location for drop off, and the consusion on bag types, you are encouraged to bring your own reusable bag when possible, and don't take unneeded plastic bags. For those bags you do have Shorewood residents have a few options:

Curbside:

No curbside collection of plastic bags. No recycling should be placed in plastic bags.

Retail drop off locations:

Many retail stores take back retail plastic bags. Many dry cleaners will take back dry cleaner plastic bags. Check with your retailer first. A list is available online for some retailers who collect bags, but they do not take every type of bag.
