Plastic Bag Recycling

Plastic Bag Recycling is a bit confusing if you don't know all of the possibilities. There are many types of bags, some are recyclable at some locations, and some are not. Shorewood residents have several options:

Curbside:

Plastic grocery bags
Plastic retail bags (remove string ties & rigid plastic handles)
Plastic dry-cleaning bags (clean/dry and bundled into one bag)

It's In the Bag Locations:

Festival Foods,Fresh & Natural, Fresh Seasons Market, Harvest Moon Co-op, Jerry's Foods, Jubilee Foods (Mound), Kowalski's (Eden Prairie), Lakewinds Co-op, Mississippi Market, River Market, Seward Co-op & Deli, Soderquist's, Village Market, Wedge Co-op, Hennepin County Drop-off Centers, Carver County Environmental Services

Plastic grocery bags
Plastic retail bags (remove string ties & rigid plastic handles)
Plastic dry-cleaning bags
Plastic cereal bags (must be dry with ALL food residue removed)
Plastic bread bags (must be dry with ALL rood residue removed)
Plastic produce bags (must be dry with ALL food residue removed)
Plastic wrap from paper products (paper towels, etc.)
Plastic salt bags (remove rigid plastic handles)
Plastic zipper bags (remove top closing mechanism)
Plastic stretch/shrink wrap
6-pack holder rings

Cub Foods, Lund's/Byerly's, Whole Foods and Target:

These stores have drop off sites for some bags, but dot not accept all that are listed in the It's In the Bag list. Please check with your area retail store for acceptable plastic bags.
